Open Community Lab is running a free two day Kids Remix on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th August 11am-5pm where 6-12 year olds can drop in with a parent / guardian and remix traditional games for Birmingham in the 21st century.
I will be present at Birmingham Open Media as part of an expert team of artists, technicians and facilitators to deliver an experience the kids won’t forget as they reconsider how Snakes and Ladders might be reinterpreted using the Bullring and a Raspberry Pi, or how the Memory Game can be recreated using art from Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Artists will create their own work, share techniques with kids and document the event for wider audience. The latest gadgets will e available to try out like Oculus Rift and Makey Makeys along with crafting, coding and creativity the two days will be a whir of excitement and enthusiasm.
