Code Club are teaming up with Stafford Raspberry Jam to bring the wonderful worlds of the Raspberry Pi and Code Club together for an exciting night of fun, play, educational tech and networking. Watch this space as more details for the event are announced 🙂
What is a Raspberry Jam?
A Raspberry Jam is a big meetup when piiers get together and they all share ideas, help each other and most of all have fun! It is a growing community that welcomes families, developers, students, teachers – really anyone who wants to put their Pi to good use and show off their fancy projects!
What is a Code Club?
Code Club is a nationwide network of free volunteer-led after-school coding clubs for children aged 9-11 to share ideas, resources and contacts and to make coding more engaging and excited for young people. We create projects for our volunteers to children how to program by showing them how to make computer games, animations and websites.
Why are we teaming up?
We are teaming up to make an exciting night of fun, play, educational tech and networking. We feel this could be an amazing opportunity for everyone!
Who is this event aimed at?
The event is aimed at Code Club volunteers, teachers, members of the public who are interested in helping with Raspberry Jams and Code Clubs in the community. People who work with young people who want to use IT / Raspberry Pi’s to engage young people in Computing…. Of course, kids are welcome to attend too!
Do I need a ticket?
You don’t need to bring a physical ticket with you but it would help tremendously if you could book online as we can then notify you of any changes.
Should I bring my Pi?
Of course! Bring a few projects if possible to show people. Also, if your struggling with a project someone could help you – after all, two heads are often better than one!
Demonstrations
If you’re mega-mega excited about a particular project set it up in a corner and people are sure to come and have a look!
Presentations
It would be wicked if you could come and give a talk for a few minutes. It could be about a project you have been working on, something that facinates you or anything that’s AWESOME! Just tell us at the beginning of the Jam!
