SUMMARY:Maker Monday 31/10/16
DESCRIPTION:Maker Monday: VR Workshop\n31st October 5:30 at Centrala Café\nClick here to book\n\nOctober’s event will see the return of the fabulous Greg Hough to Maker Monday. Greg will deliver a workshop on Using Virtual Reality for Creative Projects. With the launch of many VR devices (Oculus\, Sony and Samsung to name just a few)\, there has been a lot of noise about the potential of the technology. It begs the question\, has it yet been used in a truly creative way? Greg will talk through the tech followed by a workshop to build creative experiences using Google Cardboard devices.\n\nDr Greg (as we like to call him) was a recent BCU computing PhD graduate\, who is now working with GSK to develop interactive and VR experiences. He brings a strong focus on creativity to his work – he was a founding member of Maker Monday in Birmingham\, active in Birmingham Interactivos and team member for Giada Totaro’s Living Archive project.\n\nWe’re Moving Venue\n\nAfter 18 months at the excellent Birmingham Open Media it’s now time for a change of scenery. October’s event will be held at the Centrala Café (176 Fazeley Street\, B5 5RT)\, an inspiring art gallery and creative space in Digbeth for Maker Monday to work in. A massive thank you to BOM for being such amazing hosts for our first 16 events.\n\nEntry is free and always\, beer and pizza will be provided. The fun kicks off at 5:30pm. We’ll see you there!\n\nClick here to book

Of course\, kids are welcome to attend too! \nDo I need a ticket? \nYou don’t need to bring a physical ticket with you but it would help tremendously if you could book online as we can then notify you of any changes. \nShould I bring my Pi? \nOf course! Bring a few projects if possible to show people. Also\, if your struggling with a project someone could help you – after all\, two heads are often better than one! \nDemonstrations \nIf you’re mega-mega excited about a particular project set it up in a corner and people are sure to come and have a look! \nPresentations \nIt would be wicked if you could come and give a talk for a few minutes. It could be about a project you have been working on\, something that facinates you or anything that’s AWESOME! Just tell us at the beginning of the Jam!
