The projects we make teach children how to program by showing them how to make computer games\, animations and websites. Our volunteers go to their local club for an hour a week and teach one project a week. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to Summerfield Community Centre on Friday October 16th\, 12.30pm-2pm for the launch of the Samsung Code Club Regional Hub in Birmingham. \nCode Club have joined forces with our partners at Samsung to officially open the Samsung Code Club Regional Hub in Birmingham.  The Hub will provide facilities for children in the community to get involved in digital making and to train volunteers to inspire children to learn to code. \nThe Hub is an accessible public place\, open to young people and equipped with Samsung laptops\, which Code Clubs can use in their weekly sessions. DESCRIPTION:Open Community Lab is running a free two day Kids Remix on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th August 11am-5pm where 6-12 year olds can drop in with a parent / guardian and remix traditional games for Birmingham in the 21st century. \nI will be present at Birmingham Open Media as part of an expert team of artists\, technicians and facilitators to deliver an experience the kids won’t forget as they reconsider how Snakes and Ladders might be reinterpreted using the Bullring and a Raspberry Pi\, or how the Memory Game can be recreated using art from Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Artists will create their own work\, share techniques with kids and document the event for wider audience.
